Set out on an unforgettable jeep safari through the lush wilderness surrounding Habarana. Our experienced naturalist guides will lead you through some of Sri Lanka's most renowned national parks — Minneriya, Kaudulla, and Hurulu Eco Park — where you'll encounter herds of wild elephants, spotted deer, wild boar, crocodiles, and an incredible variety of tropical birds.
The highlight of the safari season (June to September) is the famous "Elephant Gathering" at Minneriya, where over 300 elephants congregate around the ancient reservoir — one of the largest wildlife spectacles in Asia. Even outside of this season, the parks teem with wildlife offering extraordinary encounters year-round.
Each safari is conducted in a rugged 4x4 open-top jeep, allowing unobstructed views and excellent photography opportunities. Your naturalist guide will share fascinating insights about the ecosystem, animal behaviour, and conservation efforts in the region.

Your safari begins right at the lodge. Board a comfortable 4x4 open-top jeep with your assigned naturalist guide and head towards the national park.
After a short drive, arrive at the park entrance. Your guide will brief you on safety and wildlife etiquette before entering the wilderness.
Spend 2–3 hours exploring various habitats — grasslands, wetlands, and forest edges. Watch for elephants, deer, monkeys, crocodiles, and hundreds of bird species.
As the safari concludes, return to Trio Lodge with memories and photographs of an extraordinary encounter with Sri Lanka's incredible wildlife.
